In January of 2013 I lost my dad to cancer.

Last summer, I reached out to one of my favorite singers, AJ Perdomo of The Dangerous Summer, and asked him to sing on a birdshield song. He agreed, and that night I prayed for a song to come to me in my dreams. Well, my dad actually called me in my dream and we had a good conversation, and he said "I wrote a little song for you" and began playing guitar over the phone. It was vivid and startling, so when I woke up, I wrote this song, "sunshine lies".

It's an honor to have AJ on this track as well as a few great friends of mine.
